On the 3rd October Miss Silvana came to Preschool with a surprise for the ‘Bigs’ She had an invitation from 1st and 2nd class. They invited us to go with them on an amazing excursion to Chiostro di Voltorre in Gavirate on the 11th October.
We were so happy and excited to go with the Primary school on an excursion, but who were these Primary School children?
Miss Silvana surprised us again! She told us that she would take us over to the Primary school to meet all the children in 1st class. They were going to show us the wonderful things we will do in 1st class. We were going to have morning tea with them too.
“When?” we asked. “Right now” said Miss Silvana. “Wow! Let’s go!” we shouted. We couldn’t wait to see what wonderful new things we would see.
Off we went to the Primary School. We met Miss Laura and all the boys and girls in 1st class. We sat in a circle and they showed us the things you need when you are in 1st class. A school bag, diary, pencil case, gym bag and morning tea. Miss Laura asked questions and we had to put up our hands because that’s what you do in 1st class. We had morning tea together then said goodbye and thank you to our new friends. We would see them again in when we went on our excursion together.
On the 11th October we were ready bright and early in the morning. We met Miss Silvana and our friends and got on the Bus with 1st and 2nd Class. We brought our back pack with us and our morning tea. The bus ride wasn’t too long but when we arrived we were very hungry so we had morning tea straight away. After morning tea all the children from 1st class, 2nd class and the preschool were split into three groups. Each group entered three different rooms with activities to do using Recycled Material.
The first room was full of big black cubes! We had different pieces of recycling. Wood, metal, plastic and lots more. We used the pieces to build a city.
The next room had lots of unusual pieces of recycling like gems and beads. We worked in teams and each team had a picture frame and created a picture of an animal we had invented. It was so much fun!
The last room had two different activities. There was a huge wall that had a projector on it with clouds that moved. We used more recycled material to build a city on a table in front of it. Something magical happened. The shadow of the pieces made it come to life! It looked like a real city. It was amazing.
The other activity used a table that had light under it. We put different shapes made of coloured plastic on top and made pretty designs!
After all of this fun it was already time to go! We all got back on the bus and off we went back to school. Some of us were so tired we fell asleep on the bus. We got back to Collegio and we had lunch together at the big tables with the big chairs! We were so hungry and very tired.
It was a wonderful day!
